Doctorates at the Department of Mechanical Engineering
Doctorates are the highest academic qualifications conferred by the Department of Mechanical Engineering. They certify a person's competence in self-directed, scientific work.
You can usually undertake your doctorate project as a research assistant in one of our Institutes or specialist groups and take on teaching and research responsibilities at the same time. Attending typical teaching classes is not normally one of the requirements for completing a doctorate.
If you meet the necessary requirements you can apply directly to one of our professors for a supervision place.
You can find further information on the website of the Graduate Center Mechanical Engineering.
