TUM Presidential Entrepreneurship Award for Spin-off Konux
Railway network monitoring in real time using smart sensors: That is the idea for which the TUM spin-off Konux was awarded a prize at the TUM Entrepreneurship Day 2017.
The start-up Konux convinced the jury with its system for monitoring industrial facilities which combines smart sensors and artificial intelligence-based analytic software. The main business area of Konux, co-founded in 2014 by Dennis Humhal, a graduate of the TUM Department of Mechanical Engineering, focuses on the networking and digitization of railway structures.
Worth 10,000 euros the TUM Presidential Entrepreneurship Award is awarded annually to an outstanding spin-off, whose business idea is based significantly on research carried out at TUM. The award is conditional on secure initial funding being in place and high growth potential.
Konux has already won major companies as its clients and has completed several levels of financing. Just recently the start-up was listed as a "Technology Pioneer" by the WEF (World Economic Forum).
