Can I apply for an internship at your institute?

No, we do not offer internships at our institute. No reply on such applications will be given.

What are the requirements for applying to a PhD position?

German language and some experience in the German education system are usually required for most positions. The candidates should also only apply to open positions. No reply on unsolicited applications will be given.

Is it possible to pursue a PhD degree in the industry while being supervised by your institute?

No, we do not supervise industrial PhD candidates. Please apply to one of our open positions. No reply on such applications will be given.

Is it possible to write a bachelor/master thesis in a company while being supervised by your institute?

No, we do not supervise any theses and/or projects coming from a company. Please apply to one of our open positions. 

Can I get a letter of recommendation?

We only issue letters of recommendation for students who worked at the institute as part of a thesis or student job. If so, please contact your supervisor.

Can I get support for an interview or a survey?

We don't participate in any of those.

You want to send an advertisement?

We do not answer to any advertisement sent by mass emails.

General Questions:

We do not answer to questions to which you can find an answer on Google or on our homepage within 10 minutes. We only answer to requests which are helpful for our institute.

Can you give a presentation on a conference or for our company?

Please send exact information about the time and location of the event, the number of participants and the available budget. Usually I accept only very few invitations with little travel time. Please do not be dissappointed.

Can you sign me up for a lecture or a lab course?

Do you advertise internships or vacancies on your homepage?

We don't advertise internships or vacancies on our homepage. For such offers, please refer to the student council (info@fsmb.mw.tum.de).

Do you give feedback to random ideas in the field of automotive engineering (e. g. perpetuum mobile)?

We only deal with serious research ideas. No answer will be given to unserious requests.

Emails are preselected by my secretary and only forwarded to me when passing the above mentioned criteria.
