Meeting Overview

The annual European Trilinos User Group Meeting (EuroTUG) is an annual small conference series that brings together and facilitates communication between Trilinos users and developers all over Europe. It provides insight into current trends in development of the Trilinos software package suit as well as to latest topics in scientific software for high performance computing in general.

EuroTUG is a satellite to the Trilinos User Group Meeting (TUG) held annually at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, USA. It is specifically designed for the large and growing Trilinos user and developer community in Europe to ease participation in exchange and information on latest HPC software trends and solutions.

Previous EuroTUG meetings have taken place at EPFL Lausanne (2012), TUM Garching (2013), CSCS Lugano (2014) and Maison de la Simulation / CEA Paris-Saclay (2015)

Trilinos background

The Trilinos Project is an effort to develop algorithms and enabling technologies within an object-oriented software framework for the solution of large-scale, complex multi-physics engineering and scientific problems. A unique design feature of Trilinos is its focus on packages. Full details of Trilinos and links to package websites can be found at the Trilinos home page.

Trilinos is open source and is released under a BSD-compatible / LGPL license, depending on the individual Trilinos package

Submission of Abstract/Presentation

You are very welcome to submit a presentation to be included in the program. Contributed presentations are 30min including at least 5 minutes time for discussion. Please note that your presentation should focus on one or multiple of the topics
- Scientific HPC software
- Parallel algorithms
- Performance enhancement
- Profiling
- Use of Trilinos packages in an interesting context

Submit your title and short abstract together with your registration through the registration form before 8.4.2016 for consideration in the final program. Due to limited availability of presentation slots, the organizers reserve the right to review and accept/reject submitted presentations.

Registration deadline is April 8th, 2016
Registration fee is 50 Euro (no student rebates, sorry), payable on site at the event.

By Plane:
Arrive at Munich airport, take S1 or S8 to 'Marienplatz', change to U6 bound to 'Garching Forschungszentrum', exit at 'Garching Forschungszentrum' and walk to the LRZ building. Takes approx. 1.5h, 15 Euros.
Arrive at Munich airport, take a Taxi to Garching Forschungszentrum, Boltzmannstr. 1. Takes approx. 20min, approx. 40 Euros. Recommended.

By train:
Arrive at Munich Central Station, take U4 or U5 to 'Odeonsplatz', change to U6 bound to 'Garching Forschungszentrum', exit at 'Garching Forschungszentrum' and walk to the LRZ building. Takes approx. 45min,  approx. 6 Euros. Recommended. Booking your train ticket to include Munich local area transport might save you something.
Arrive at Munich Central Station, take a Taxi to Garching Forschungszentrum, Boltzmannstr. 1. Takes approx. 30min, approx. 40-50 Euros, depends on traffic.
