How will the winter semester 2020/21 be conducted?

Lecturers in the Department of Mechanical Engineering are currently preparing a combination of classroom and online courses for the winter semester 2020/2021.

The aim is to offer online courses, in particular the courses for the compulsory modules in the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (semesters 1, 3 and 5), so that students who are still abroad or in quarantine have the opportunity to attend all courses. In addition, voluntary practice groups and question times in attendance are being prepared for first-year students in the Bachelor's program. However, the feasibility of these is highly dependent on the hygiene regulations in force at the beginning of the lectures.

As in the summer semester 2020, the Master's students will receive a large part of their course offerings in virtual form. The focus of the face-to-face lectures will be on university internships.

In contrast, the examinations following the 2020/2021 winter semester (from February 2021) will be almost exclusively in attendance. Attendance on campus is mandatory for this.

In addition, the student council offers the semester introduction days at the start of studies for both Bachelor and Master students. Among many other useful information, you can also get to know your fellow students there.
