Primary Forming and Shaping

Research Strategy

Primary forming and shaping technology are the two major production engineering key aspects of the chair. This interlocking of different technologies is an ideal starting point for synergetic research activities. In an environment of increasingly tough competition, they should help to strengthen Germany's position as a business location.

A healthy mix of basic research and application-oriented development with the involvement of innovative industrial companies is desirable for the chair. We therefore see our work as a link between teaching, basic research and application-oriented development. In addition, the orientation towards industrial process chains is an important strategic goal of the chair. This ensures that basic developments at utg are also evaluated in terms of industrial feasibility and provide the opportunity for transfer projects. Of course, this only works with motivated and committed employees, who, due to the positive and friendly atmosphere at the chair, have a very good chance of turning their creativity and ideas into concrete project results.
