The research group Surgical Assistance examines the efficiency of medical mechatronic systems. In various projects, devices and systems are developed to assist surgeons or to directly benefiting the patients. Like the development of planning systems to support the planning procedure as well as intraoperative real-time imaging.
But also to examine functional anatomic models for clinical evaluation and training of physicians is an essential part.
The research group Elderly Care examines assistance systems that compensate age-related limitations or support care. These range from systems to ensure adequate fluid intake, reminder of everyday activities to the kinematic design of planar joint structures to support physical forces.
