Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Markus Eblenkamp studied human medicine at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen. He did his doctorate on the topic "Investigations on the regulation of glucose transport by alternative substrates using the model of isolated heart muscle cells in rats". After his studies, Mr. Eblenkamp worked for 6 years as a physician at the Institute of Pathology at the RWTH, of which 2 years as a junior researcher at the IZKF "Biomat" at the RWTH Aachen, where he conducted studies on the foreign body reaction (giant cell formation) to biomaterials. He was co-initiator of the establishment of an interdisciplinary stem cell group at the University Hospital Aachen. Mr. Eblenkamp completed his clinical year in the intensive care unit of the Clinic for Plastic Surgery, Hand and Burn Surgery at RWTH Aachen University. In April 2003 Mr. Eblenkamp moved to TUM. He was significantly involved in the establishment of the chair. New fields of Medical Engineering, which significantly were initiated by Mr. Eblenkamp at the chair and are now being driven forward, are Additive Plastics Technology, IoT & Materials, and Internationalization via the MedTech OneWorld Initiative of the chair. Mr. Eblenkamp is co-designer of the "Life Science" sector in the additive manufacturing faculty cluster and speaker of the community of practice "IoT & Material" and "Lab 4.0" at the Zentrum Digitalisierung Bayern.
