Tim Scherzer studied mechanical engineering with a focus on plastics technology at the TU Munich. In his bachelor thesis he investigated the possibilities and limits of chemical and physical foaming of high-temperature thermoplastics in the injection moulding process. Another student research project included the design and sampling of an injection mould for multi-component production. As part of a cooperation project with KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH, his master's thesis accompanied the optimization of relevant process parameters for a novel process for direct fiber processing in injection molding. Tim Scherzer has been a research assistant at the chair since May 2016.
