Best Paper Awards at the International Symposium on Thermoacoustic Instabilities in Gas Turbines and Rocket Engines

ETH Zurich and TU Berlin were awarded with the best scientific and best technical publication award for their outstanding work presented at the symposium.

At this year's Symposium on Thermoacoustic Instabilities in Gas Turbines and Rocket Engines – Industry Meets Academia in Munich, the best scientific and best technical publication out of a total of 54 publications were elected by the attendees to receive a 500€ award. The hosts Thomas Sattelmayer and Bruno Schuermans and the entire organizational committee congratulate the winners on their outstanding work. “Effect of Turbulence-Induced Colored Noise on Thermoacoustic Instabilities in Combustion Chambers” by Giacomo Bonciolini, Edouard Boujo, and Nicolas Noiray from ETH Zurich earned the best scientific paper and presentation award. The best technical paper and presentation “Measurement and Modeling of the Generation and the Transport of Entropy Waves in a Model Gas Turbine Combustor” was contributed by Dominik Wassmer and his co-authors Bruno Schuermans, Christian Oliver Paschereit, and Jonas Moeck. The prizes were awarded to the winners during a get-together on international ground in Seoul, South Korea. We thank all the symposium participants for their high quality contributions, which made the symposium a great success!
